The Zachary Brownie Benefit

To Whom It May Concern:
We are in need of your support for a benefit we will be having on October 25, 2008, for Zachary Brownie at The Rodeo Bar and Grill in Neenah.
Zachary Brownie is the 10 year old son of Joel and Dori Brownie, and Nate’s big brother. Zachary was diagnosed at age 3 with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive muscle wasting disease affecting young boys. DMD is. With the rate of progression the disease is taking on Zac’s body, his life expectancy is late teens to early twenties. Zac is in a power wheelchair full time and no longer able to walk or stand. Dec. 31, 2007, Zac underwent heel chord release surgery and hamstring release. We almost lost him after the surgery due to going into respiratory distress. He spent 11 days in PICU before finally being released to come home. He missed 3 months of school and when he was able to return it was only for ˝ days. He goes to physical therapy 2 times a week and works on things at home to be able to sit in his wheelchair normally and get back to being a 10 year old boy. Despite all of this, Zachary is a happy and inspirational force in the lives of everyone he meets. When people first meet Zac, of course they see the wheelchair and feel sorry for him, but then after a little while with him, he shows them just how “normal” of a 10 year old boy he really is, and that inspires them.
The money will be used to purchase an accessible vehicle to transport Zac, living expenses and medical expenses incurred in the past, present, and future.
We are asking for the support of local businesses to help with the following:
§ Event Sponsors - $500.00 and up – your name will be listed on all promotional items.
§ Silent Auction – $100 per table or auction item valued $100 or more – your name will be posted on table.
